CVE-2026-31450 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 8.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ext4: publish jinode after initialization ext4_inode_attach_jinode() publishes ei->jinode to concurrent users. It used to set ei->jinode before jbd2_journal_init_jbd_inode(), allowing a reader to observe a non-NULL jinode with i_vfs_inode still unset. The fast commit flush path can then pass this jinode to jbd2_wait_inode_data(), which dereferences i_vfs_inode->i_mapping and may crash. Below is the crash I observe: ``` BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: 000000010beb47f4 PGD 110e51067 P4D 110e51067 PUD 0 Oops: Oops: 0000 [#1] SMP NOPTI CPU: 1 UID: 0 PID: 4850 Comm: fc_fsync_bench_ Not tainted 6.18.0-00764-g795a690c06a5 #1 PREEMPT(voluntary) Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (i440FX + PIIX, 1996), BIOS Arch Linux 1.17.0-2-2 04/01/2014 RIP: 0010:xas_find_marked+0x3d/0x2e0 Code: e0 03 48 83 f8 02 0f 84 f0 01 00 00 48 8b 47 08 48 89 c3 48 39 c6 0f 82 fd 01 00 00 48 85 c9 74 3d 48 83 f9 03 77 63 4c 8b 0f <49> 8b 71 08 48 c7 47 18 00 00 00 00 48 89 f1 83 e1 03 48 83 f9 02 RSP: 0018:ffffbbee806e7bf0 EFLAGS: 00010246 RAX: 000000000010beb4 RBX: 000000000010beb4 RCX: 0000000000000003 RDX: 0000000000000001 RSI: 0000002000300000 RDI: ffffbbee806e7c10 RBP: 0000000000000001 R08: 0000002000300000 R09: 000000010beb47ec R10: ffff9ea494590090 R11: 0000000000000000 R12: 0000002000300000 R13: ffffbbee806e7c90 R14: ffff9ea494513788 R15: ffffbbee806e7c88 FS: 00007fc2f9e3e6c0(0000) GS:ffff9ea6b1444000(0000) knlGS:0000000000000000 CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 0000000080050033 CR2: 000000010beb47f4 CR3: 0000000119ac5000 CR4: 0000000000750ef0 PKRU: 55555554 Call Trace: <TASK> filemap_get_folios_tag+0x87/0x2a0 __filemap_fdatawait_range+0x5f/0xd0 ? srso_alias_return_thunk+0x5/0xfbef5 ? __schedule+0x3e7/0x10c0 ? srso_alias_return_thunk+0x5/0xfbef5 ? srso_alias_return_thunk+0x5/0xfbef5 ? srso_alias_return_thunk+0x5/0xfbef5 ? preempt_count_sub+0x5f/0x80 ? srso_alias_return_thunk+0x5/0xfbef5 ? cap_safe_nice+0x37/0x70 ? srso_alias_return_thunk+0x5/0xfbef5 ? preempt_count_sub+0x5f/0x80 ? srso_alias_return_thunk+0x5/0xfbef5 filemap_fdatawait_range_keep_errors+0x12/0x40 ext4_fc_commit+0x697/0x8b0 ? ext4_file_write_iter+0x64b/0x950 ? srso_alias_return_thunk+0x5/0xfbef5 ? preempt_count_sub+0x5f/0x80 ? srso_alias_return_thunk+0x5/0xfbef5 ? vfs_write+0x356/0x480 ? srso_alias_return_thunk+0x5/0xfbef5 ? preempt_count_sub+0x5f/0x80 ext4_sync_file+0xf7/0x370 do_fsync+0x3b/0x80 ? syscall_trace_enter+0x108/0x1d0 __x64_sys_fdatasync+0x16/0x20 do_syscall_64+0x62/0x2c0 entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe+0x76/0x7e ... ``` Fix this by initializing the jbd2_inode first. CVE-2026-31442 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: dmaengine: idxd: Fix possible invalid memory access after FLR In the case that the first Function Level Reset (FLR) concludes correctly, but in the second FLR the scratch area for the saved configuration cannot be allocated, it's possible for a invalid memory access to happen. Always set the deallocated scratch area to NULL after FLR completes.
CVE-2026-31435 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 8.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfs: Fix read abandonment during retry Under certain circumstances, all the remaining subrequests from a read request will get abandoned during retry. The abandonment process expects the 'subreq' variable to be set to the place to start abandonment from, but it doesn't always have a useful value (it will be uninitialised on the first pass through the loop and it may point to a deleted subrequest on later passes). Fix the first jump to "abandon:" to set subreq to the start of the first subrequest expected to need retry (which, in this abandonment case, turned out unexpectedly to no longer have NEED_RETRY set). Also clear the subreq pointer after discarding superfluous retryable subrequests to cause an oops if we do try to access it.
CVE-2026-31419 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: bonding: fix use-after-free in bond_xmit_broadcast() bond_xmit_broadcast() reuses the original skb for the last slave (determined by bond_is_last_slave()) and clones it for others. Concurrent slave enslave/release can mutate the slave list during RCU-protected iteration, changing which slave is "last" mid-loop. This causes the original skb to be double-consumed (double-freed). Replace the racy bond_is_last_slave() check with a simple index comparison (i + 1 == slaves_count) against the pre-snapshot slave count taken via READ_ONCE() before the loop. This preserves the zero-copy optimization for the last slave while making the "last" determination stable against concurrent list mutations. The UAF can trigger the following crash: ================================================================== BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in skb_clone Read of size 8 at addr ffff888100ef8d40 by task exploit/147 CPU: 1 UID: 0 PID: 147 Comm: exploit Not tainted 7.0.0-rc3+ #4 PREEMPTLAZY Call Trace: <TASK> dump_stack_lvl (lib/dump_stack.c:123) print_report (mm/kasan/report.c:379 mm/kasan/report.c:482) kasan_report (mm/kasan/report.c:597) skb_clone (include/linux/skbuff.h:1724 include/linux/skbuff.h:1792 include/linux/skbuff.h:3396 net/core/skbuff.c:2108) bond_xmit_broadcast (drivers/net/bonding/bond_main.c:5334) bond_start_xmit (drivers/net/bonding/bond_main.c:5567 drivers/net/bonding/bond_main.c:5593) dev_hard_start_xmit (include/linux/netdevice.h:5325 include/linux/netdevice.h:5334 net/core/dev.c:3871 net/core/dev.c:3887) __dev_queue_xmit (include/linux/netdevice.h:3601 net/core/dev.c:4838) ip6_finish_output2 (include/net/neighbour.h:540 include/net/neighbour.h:554 net/ipv6/ip6_output.c:136) ip6_finish_output (net/ipv6/ip6_output.c:208 net/ipv6/ip6_output.c:219) ip6_output (net/ipv6/ip6_output.c:250) ip6_send_skb (net/ipv6/ip6_output.c:1985) udp_v6_send_skb (net/ipv6/udp.c:1442) udpv6_sendmsg (net/ipv6/udp.c:1733) __sys_sendto (net/socket.c:730 net/socket.c:742 net/socket.c:2206) __x64_sys_sendto (net/socket.c:2209) do_syscall_64 (arch/x86/entry/syscall_64.c:63 arch/x86/entry/syscall_64.c:94) entry_SYSCALL_64_after_hwframe (arch/x86/entry/entry_64.S:130) </TASK> Allocated by task 147: Freed by task 147: The buggy address belongs to the object at ffff888100ef8c80 which belongs to the cache skbuff_head_cache of size 224 The buggy address is located 192 bytes inside of freed 224-byte region [ffff888100ef8c80, ffff888100ef8d60) Memory state around the buggy address: ffff888100ef8c00: fb fb fb fb fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc ffff888100ef8c80: fa fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb >ffff888100ef8d00: fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fc fc fc fc ^ ffff888100ef8d80: fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fc fa fb fb fb fb fb fb fb ffff888100ef8e00: fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb fb ==================================================================
CVE-2026-31403 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: NFSD: Hold net reference for the lifetime of /proc/fs/nfs/exports fd The /proc/fs/nfs/exports proc entry is created at module init and persists for the module's lifetime. exports_proc_open() captures the caller's current network namespace and stores its svc_export_cache in seq->private, but takes no reference on the namespace. If the namespace is subsequently torn down (e.g. container destruction after the opener does setns() to a different namespace), nfsd_net_exit() calls nfsd_export_shutdown() which frees the cache. Subsequent reads on the still-open fd dereference the freed cache_detail, walking a freed hash table. Hold a reference on the struct net for the lifetime of the open file descriptor. This prevents nfsd_net_exit() from running -- and thus prevents nfsd_export_shutdown() from freeing the cache -- while any exports fd is open. cache_detail already stores its net pointer (cd->net, set by cache_create_net()), so exports_release() can retrieve it without additional per-file storage.
CVE-2026-31401 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: HID: bpf: prevent buffer overflow in hid_hw_request right now the returned value is considered to be always valid. However, when playing with HID-BPF, the return value can be arbitrary big, because it's the return value of dispatch_hid_bpf_raw_requests(), which calls the struct_ops and we have no guarantees that the value makes sense.
CVE-2026-31392 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 8.1 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: smb: client: fix krb5 mount with username option Customer reported that some of their krb5 mounts were failing against a single server as the client was trying to mount the shares with wrong credentials. It turned out the client was reusing SMB session from first mount to try mounting the other shares, even though a different username= option had been specified to the other mounts. By using username mount option along with sec=krb5 to search for principals from keytab is supported by cifs.upcall(8) since cifs-utils-4.8. So fix this by matching username mount option in match_session() even with Kerberos. For example, the second mount below should fail with -ENOKEY as there is no 'foobar' principal in keytab (/etc/krb5.keytab). The client ends up reusing SMB session from first mount to perform the second one, which is wrong. ``` $ ktutil ktutil: add_entry -password -p testuser -k 1 -e aes256-cts Password for testuser@ZELDA.TEST: ktutil: write_kt /etc/krb5.keytab ktutil: quit $ klist -ke Keytab name: FILE:/etc/krb5.keytab KVNO Principal ---- ---------------------------------------------------------------- 1 testuser@ZELDA.TEST (aes256-cts-hmac-sha1-96) $ mount.cifs //w22-root2/scratch /mnt/1 -o sec=krb5,username=testuser $ mount.cifs //w22-root2/scratch /mnt/2 -o sec=krb5,username=foobar $ mount -t cifs | grep -Po 'username=\K\w+' testuser testuser ```
CVE-2026-23466 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/xe: Open-code GGTT MMIO access protection GGTT MMIO access is currently protected by hotplug (drm_dev_enter), which works correctly when the driver loads successfully and is later unbound or unloaded. However, if driver load fails, this protection is insufficient because drm_dev_unplug() is never called. Additionally, devm release functions cannot guarantee that all BOs with GGTT mappings are destroyed before the GGTT MMIO region is removed, as some BOs may be freed asynchronously by worker threads. To address this, introduce an open-coded flag, protected by the GGTT lock, that guards GGTT MMIO access. The flag is cleared during the dev_fini_ggtt devm release function to ensure MMIO access is disabled once teardown begins. (cherry picked from commit 4f3a998a173b4325c2efd90bdadc6ccd3ad9a431)
CVE-2026-23461 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 8.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: L2CAP: Fix use-after-free in l2cap_unregister_user After commit ab4eedb790ca ("Bluetooth: L2CAP: Fix corrupted list in hci_chan_del"), l2cap_conn_del() uses conn->lock to protect access to conn->users. However, l2cap_register_user() and l2cap_unregister_user() don't use conn->lock, creating a race condition where these functions can access conn->users and conn->hchan concurrently with l2cap_conn_del(). This can lead to use-after-free and list corruption bugs, as reported by syzbot. Fix this by changing l2cap_register_user() and l2cap_unregister_user() to use conn->lock instead of hci_dev_lock(), ensuring consistent locking for the l2cap_conn structure.
CVE-2026-23457 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 8.6 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: nf_conntrack_sip: fix Content-Length u32 truncation in sip_help_tcp() sip_help_tcp() parses the SIP Content-Length header with simple_strtoul(), which returns unsigned long, but stores the result in unsigned int clen. On 64-bit systems, values exceeding UINT_MAX are silently truncated before computing the SIP message boundary. For example, Content-Length 4294967328 (2^32 + 32) is truncated to 32, causing the parser to miscalculate where the current message ends. The loop then treats trailing data in the TCP segment as a second SIP message and processes it through the SDP parser. Fix this by changing clen to unsigned long to match the return type of simple_strtoul(), and reject Content-Length values that exceed the remaining TCP payload length.
CVE-2026-23445 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: igc: fix page fault in XDP TX timestamps handling If an XDP application that requested TX timestamping is shutting down while the link of the interface in use is still up the following kernel splat is reported: [ 883.803618] [ T1554] BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: ffffcfb6200fd008 ... CVE-2026-23437 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: shaper: protect late read accesses to the hierarchy We look up a netdev during prep of Netlink ops (pre- callbacks) and take a ref to it. Then later in the body of the callback we take its lock or RCU which are the actual protections. This is not proper, a conversion from a ref to a locked netdev must include a liveness check (a check if the netdev hasn't been unregistered already). Fix the read cases (those under RCU). Writes needs a separate change to protect from creating the hierarchy after flush has already run.
CVE-2026-23434 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 7.1 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mtd: rawnand: serialize lock/unlock against other NAND operations nand_lock() and nand_unlock() call into chip->ops.lock_area/unlock_area without holding the NAND device lock. On controllers that implement SET_FEATURES via multiple low-level PIO commands, these can race with concurrent UBI/UBIFS background erase/write operations that hold the device lock, resulting in cmd_pending conflicts on the NAND controller. Add nand_get_device()/nand_release_device() around the lock/unlock operations to serialize them against all other NAND controller access.
CVE-2026-23395 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 8.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: L2CAP: Fix accepting multiple L2CAP_ECRED_CONN_REQ Currently the code attempts to accept requests regardless of the command identifier which may cause multiple requests to be marked as pending (FLAG_DEFER_SETUP) which can cause more than L2CAP_ECRED_MAX_CID(5) to be allocated in l2cap_ecred_rsp_defer causing an overflow. The spec is quite clear that the same identifier shall not be used on subsequent requests: 'Within each signaling channel a different Identifier shall be used for each successive request or indication.' https://www.bluetooth.com/wp-content/uploads/Files/Specification/HTML/Core-62/out/en/host/logical-link-control-and-adaptation-protocol-specification.html#UUID-32a25a06-4aa4-c6c7-77c5-dcfe3682355d So this attempts to check if there are any channels pending with the same identifier and rejects if any are found.
CVE-2026-23391 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: netfilter: xt_CT: drop pending enqueued packets on template removal Templates refer to objects that can go away while packets are sitting in nfqueue refer to: - helper, this can be an issue on module removal. - timeout policy, nfnetlink_cttimeout might remove it. The use of templates with zone and event cache filter are safe, since this just copies values. Flush these enqueued packets in case the template rule gets removed.
CVE-2026-23340 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: net: sched: avoid qdisc_reset_all_tx_gt() vs dequeue race for lockless qdiscs When shrinking the number of real tx queues, netif_set_real_num_tx_queues() calls qdisc_reset_all_tx_gt() to flush qdiscs for queues which will no longer be used. qdisc_reset_all_tx_gt() currently serializes qdisc_reset() with qdisc_lock(). However, for lockless qdiscs, the dequeue path is serialized by qdisc_run_begin/end() using qdisc->seqlock instead, so qdisc_reset() can run concurrently with __qdisc_run() and free skbs while they are still being dequeued, leading to UAF. This can easily be reproduced on e.g. virtio-net by imposing heavy traffic while frequently changing the number of queue pairs: iperf3 -ub0 -c $peer -t 0 & while :; do ethtool -L eth0 combined 1 ethtool -L eth0 combined 2 done With KASAN enabled, this leads to reports like: BUG: KASAN: slab-use-after-free in __qdisc_run+0x133f/0x1760 ... CVE-2026-23317 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/vmwgfx: Return the correct value in vmw_translate_ptr functions Before the referenced fixes these functions used a lookup function that returned a pointer. This was changed to another lookup function that returned an error code with the pointer becoming an out parameter. The error path when the lookup failed was not changed to reflect this change and the code continued to return the PTR_ERR of the now uninitialized pointer. This could cause the vmw_translate_ptr functions to return success when they actually failed causing further uninitialized and OOB accesses.

CVE-2026-23275 1 Linux 1 Linux Kernel 2026-10-19 7.8 High
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: io_uring: ensure ctx->rings is stable for task work flags manipulation If DEFER_TASKRUN | SETUP_TASKRUN is used and task work is added while the ring is being resized, it's possible for the OR'ing of IORING_SQ_TASKRUN to happen in the small window of swapping into the new rings and the old rings being freed. Prevent this by adding a 2nd ->rings pointer, ->rings_rcu, which is protected by RCU. The task work flags manipulation is inside RCU already, and if the resize ring freeing is done post an RCU synchronize, then there's no need to add locking to the fast path of task work additions. Note: this is only done for DEFER_TASKRUN, as that's the only setup mode that supports ring resizing. If this ever changes, then they too need to use the io_ctx_mark_taskrun() helper.
