CVSS v3.1 |
| Excelize is a Go language library for reading and writing Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. From 2.0.0 to 2.11.0 in github.com/xuri/excelize/v2 and from 1.1.0 to 1.4.1 in github.com/xuri/excelize, ColumnNameToNumber accumulates a bijective base-26 value in int64 without detecting overflow, allowing an invalid long column name to wrap to zero with no error. ColumnNameToNumber accepts the overflowing name VGWQHXLSDVIKWV, after which checkSheetR0 and xlsxWorksheet.checkRow use the wrapped column value as an index. When a crafted worksheet uses an overflowing column name in a row normalized by checkSheetR0 or checkRow, the wrapped zero column becomes a negative slice index during worksheet normalization, allowing an attacker to panic and terminate the calling process. No fixed version is available as of this review. |
| Excelize is a Go language library for reading and writing Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. From 2.7.1 to 2.11.0, mergeCellsParser leaves the cached rectangle empty for an empty mergeCell ref and then passes that empty slice to cellInRange without a length check. GetCellValue reaches mergeCellsParser, which passes an empty rectangle derived from the mergeCell ref attribute into cellInRange. When a crafted worksheet contains an empty mergeCell ref and a non-streaming cell API reads the worksheet, cellInRange indexes four positions in an empty slice, allowing an attacker to panic on the first affected cell operation. No fixed version is available as of this review. |
| In NTFS-3G before 2026.7.7, a out-of-bounds read exists in ntfs_fix_file_name() in libntfs-3g/reparse.c that allows an attacker to read possibly confidential information in ntfs-3g process memory by crafting a malicious NTFS image. The out-of-bounds read is triggered by a readlink on a corrupted file. |
| A heap-based buffer overflow flaw was found in Cyrus SASL. The add_to_challenge() function in the DIGEST-MD5 plugin computes the size of the buffer needed for a challenge/response field before DIGEST-MD5 quoting is applied, but does not recompute that size when quoting (escaping special characters) makes the value longer. The under-sized buffer is then passed to strcat(), causing a heap-based out-of-bounds write whose size depends on attacker-controlled input. A malicious or on-path DIGEST-MD5 (or HTTP Digest) server can trigger this flaw in a connecting client by supplying a crafted challenge field, such as realm or nonce, most likely resulting in a crash of the client application. |
| In NTFS-3G before 2026.7.7, a heap buffer overflow exists in ntfs_ib_cut_tail() in libntfs-3g/index.c that allows an attacker to corrupt heap memory in the SUID-root ntfs-3g binary by crafting a malicious NTFS image. The overflow is triggered by creating a file in a specially crafted directory. |
| A stack-based buffer overflow in the ASUS router modules allows an authenticated nearby user to execute arbitrary code via a crafted configuration file upload that exceeds the expected buffer size.Refer to the ' Security Update for ASUS Router Firmware ' section on the ASUS Security Advisory for more information. |
| In affected versions of Octopus Server, an authenticated user with permission to modify roles could bypass the protections preventing access abuse resulting in privilege escalation. It was possible for the built-in role to be weakened and the attacker's account added to a privileged team. This was achievable due to improper validation of unsafe equivalence in inputs. |
| Dbit WIFI4 N300 1.0.0 devices allows administrators (from the local Wi-Fi network) to execute OS commands by leveraging a stack-based buffer overflow via the /api/addStaticDHCP comment field, |
| In NTFS-3G before 2026.7.7, a heap buffer overflow exists in ntfs_index_walk_down() in libntfs-3g/index.c that allows an attacker to corrupt heap memory in the SUID-root ntfs-3g binary by crafting a malicious NTFS image. The overflow is triggered by reading the special crafted file metadata. |
| Out of bounds read in Skia in Google Chrome prior to 155.0.8059.39 allowed a local attacker leveraging social engineering to potentially read memory via a crafted file. (Chromium security severity: Low) |
| A vulnerability in the NX-API feature of Cisco NX-OS Software could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to execute arbitrary code with root privileges or cause a denial of service (DoS) condition on an affected device.
The vulnerability is due to insufficient input validation of data that is sent to the NX-API. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted HTTP request to the NX-API of an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute arbitrary code with root privileges and could cause process crashes, which could result in a reload of the device and a DoS condition. |
| As part of Cisco's ongoing commitment to proactive security and product quality, the Cisco NX-OS engineering team has conducted a comprehensive internal security review. This review resulted in a software hardening release that addresses multiple internally discovered vulnerabilities.
The vulnerabilities tracked by CVE-2026-76457 are related to out-of-bounds read issues that are grouped under the Common Weakness Enumeration (CWE) CWE-125. |
| The Bluetooth Mesh On-Demand Private Proxy solicitation handler in subsys/bluetooth/mesh/solicitation.c copies a received Solicitation PDU into a fixed 17-byte stack buffer without bounding the source length. In sol_pdu_decrypt(), out is allocated as NET_BUF_SIMPLE(17) and then filled with net_buf_simple_add_mem(out, in->data, in->len); net_buf_simple_add() guards its tailroom only with __ASSERT_NO_MSG, which is compiled out in production builds, so when in->len > 17 the underlying memcpy writes attacker-controlled bytes past the 17-byte stack buffer. The copy occurs before any decryption or authentication, so no key material is required to trigger it.
The oversized length arises because the mesh scan callback in subsys/bluetooth/mesh/adv.c calls net_buf_simple_restore() before dispatching to bt_mesh_sol_recv(), leaving buf->len covering the entire remaining advertising payload rather than just the Solicitation Service Data. After the parser locates the Service Data AD and consumes the Identification Type byte, the remaining buf->len is the 17-octet Network PDU plus any trailing advertising bytes, and prior to this fix there was no maximum-length check (only a minimum). An attacker can therefore append extra AD structures or padding after the Solicitation Service Data to make buf->len exceed 17.
bt_mesh_scan_cb() is registered directly as the BLE scan callback, so buf is raw, unauthenticated advertising data received over the air. Any device in radio range can send a non-connectable advertisement carrying a crafted mesh Proxy Solicitation to a node that has CONFIG_BT_MESH_OD_PRIV_PROXY_SRV enabled and is currently eligible to be solicited (GATT proxy disabled, On-Demand Private Proxy enabled), with no pairing, bonding, or provisioning. The result is an attacker-controlled stack overwrite — plausibly leading to remote code execution and at minimum a reliable remote denial of service. The fix trims buf->len to the spec-fixed 17 octets (dropping the PDU if fewer remain) before decryption. |
| A flaw has been found in XnView Classic 2.52.5. Impacted is an unknown function of the component FLI File Parser. This manipulation of the argument starting_line causes heap-based buffer overflow. Remote exploitation of the attack is possible. Upgrading to version 2.52.6 is recommended to address this issue. Upgrading the affected component is advised. |
| Insufficient input validation leading to memory overread when the NetScaler is configured as a Gateway (VPN virtual server, ICA Proxy, CVPN, RDP Proxy) OR AAA virtual server |
| Out of bounds read in ANGLE in Google Chrome prior to 155.0.8059.39 allowed a remote attacker to read memory outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium) |
| ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to 7.1.2-31, a client connected to the distributed pixel cache server can send crafted pixel data that triggers an integer-size calculation error and a heap buffer overwrite, crashing the server. This issue is fixed in version 7.1.2-31. |
| Out of bounds read in Printing in Google Chrome on on Windows prior to 155.0.8059.39 allowed a remote attacker who had compromised the renderer process and leveraged social engineering to read memory outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium) |
| ImageMagick is free and open-source software used for editing and manipulating digital images. Prior to 7.1.2-32, a crafted EXR image can cause the EXR decoder to write beyond a heap buffer, causing the process to crash. This issue is fixed in version 7.1.2-32. |
| A heap-based buffer overflow in H5VM_array_fill() in src/H5VM.c in HDF5 before 2.2.0 lets a remote attacker cause an application crash and possibly execute arbitrary code with a crafted HDF5 file. When a dataset's unallocated chunks are read, H5D__fill_init() fills the fill-value buffer from datatype and dataspace metadata in the file. If that metadata is inconsistent with the buffer's allocated size, the write goes past the end of the buffer. The attacker can control the content written through the fill value stored in the file. |
