CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ASoC: codecs: rt712-sdca-dmic: fix uninitialized stream_config->type
stream_config is not initialized before being passed to
sdw_stream_add_slave(). The type field may contain garbage and is
later copied to stream->type by sdw_config_stream().
Zero-initialize stream_config so type defaults to SDW_STREAM_PCM.
While at it, use snd_sdw_params_to_config() helper instead of
open-coding the same logic. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: cfg80211: check IP header size in cfg80211_classify8021d()
A frame that looks like IP can be transmitted, but be too short, so
the DS field is read incorrectly:
BUG: KMSAN: uninit-value in cfg80211_classify8021d+0x99d/0x12b0 net/wireless/util.c:1027

Use skb_header_pointer() like the MPLS case. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: brcmfmac: cyw: pass PMKID to firmware if present
Zero out auth_status on initialization. Otherwise, garbage will
leak from the stack to the firmware (when ssid is less than 32 bytes
and/or when params->pmkid is set). Then, pass the params->pmkid to the
firmware (without it, the firmware caches a garbage PMKID on successful
authentication and denies a subsequent association request that includes
the PMKID). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
Input: zero ff_effect before compat copy in input_ff_effect_from_user
In the compat path input_ff_effect_from_user() aliases the caller's
native struct ff_effect with the smaller struct ff_effect_compat and
copies only the compat sized prefix:
compat_effect = (struct ff_effect_compat *)effect;
if (copy_from_user(compat_effect, buffer,
sizeof(struct ff_effect_compat)))
The tail of the native structure is never written. Callers pass an
uninitialized on-stack object, for example evdev_do_ioctl() for
EVIOCSFF, so those bytes keep their previous stack contents.
input_ff_upload() then stores the full native structure in
ff->effects[id], from where a uinput based force feedback daemon can
read it back via UI_BEGIN_FF_UPLOAD, disclosing kernel stack memory to
userspace.
Zero the effect before the compat copy. |
| A use of uninitialized value vulnerability exists in the Matter SDK (connectedhomeip) before 1.4.0, where the `GetDestinationGroupId().Value()` method is called without first checking whether a value exists. This leads to a crash when an InvokeCommand is sent without initializing the destination group ID. The issue affects all versions before commit 0360cc3 (Dec 5, 2024) and leads to denial of service through SIGABRT. It is fixed by adding a .HasValue() check before access. |
| Uninitialized memory in the Audio/Video component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox ESR 153.4, Thunderbird 157, Thunderbird 140.17, Thunderbird 153.4, Firefox 157, Firefox ESR 115.42, and Firefox ESR 140.17. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
scsi: qla2xxx: Zero dport diagnostics buffer to avoid info leak
qla2x00_do_dport_diagnostics() allocates the qla_dport_diag response
buffer with kmalloc_obj() (non-zeroing) and, on success, copies the full
sizeof(*dd) back to user space via sg_copy_from_buffer(). The inbound
sg_copy_to_buffer() only fills as many bytes as the user request payload
provides, and qla26xx_dport_diagnostics() zeroes only dd->buf. The
options and unused[] fields are therefore copied out uninitialized,
leaking kernel heap contents to user space.
Allocate with kzalloc_obj(), matching qla2x00_do_dport_diagnostics_v2(). |
| This vulnerability enables unauthenticated remote code execution (RCE) on a victim's machine by exploiting a combination of cryptographic weaknesses and memory management issues in the SConnect native host component.
The attack leverages an unrestricted messaging interface between an attacker-controlled web page and the native host, allowing malicious input to bypass security checks. |
| NULL Pointer Dereference, Use of Uninitialized Variable vulnerability in Apache Thrift c_glib bindings.
This issue affects Apache Thrift: before 0.25.0.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 0.25.0, which fixes the issue. |
| apcupsd through 3.14.14 discloses uninitialized stack memory in getupsvar() in src/cgi/upsfetch.c (used by upsstats.cgi, multimon.cgi, and upsfstats.cgi. On the single-field path, when the matched STATUS line has fewer than three whitespace-separated tokens, sscanf("%*s %*s %s", answer) performs no assignment but the function returns success, and thus the caller prints the uninitialized destination buffer into the HTTP response. |
| Uninitialized memory in the Storage: Quota Manager component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox ESR 153.4, Thunderbird 157, Thunderbird 140.17, Thunderbird 153.4, Firefox 157, Firefox ESR 115.42, and Firefox ESR 140.17. |
| MQTT WebSocket setter ABI mismatch may disclose memory or cause a crash |
| Uninitialized memory in the Graphics: WebGPU component. This vulnerability was fixed in Firefox ESR 153.4, Thunderbird 157, Thunderbird 153.4, and Firefox 157. |
| Uninitialized memory in the Graphics: WebGPU component. This vulnerability was fixed in Thunderbird 157 and Firefox 157. |
| Uninitialized memory in the Graphics: WebGPU component. This vulnerability was fixed in Thunderbird 157 and Firefox 157. |
| IBM PowerVM Hypervisor FW1120.00 through FW1120.01, FW1110.00 through FW1110.31, and FW1060.00 through FW1060.81 is affected by a vulnerability in a hypervisor call interface. An attacker with root access to a guest partition can read a limited amount of hypervisor memory, potentially exposing sensitive data belonging to the hypervisor or other guest partitions hosted on the same system, resulting in a confidentiality impact. The attacker has no control over which memory contents are returned. This vulnerability is of particular concern in multi-tenant environments where guests may run arbitrary OS images. |
| Use of uninitialized variable in Tint in Google Chrome on on Android prior to 154.0.8037.57 allowed a remote attacker to read memory outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium) |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
s390/vfio-ap: fix potential use of uninitialized apm_filtered bitmap
The DECLARE_BITMAP(apm_filtered, AP_DEVICES) macro allocates the bitmap
on the stack without zero-initializing it.
In vfio_ap_mdev_hot_plug_cfg(), the vfio_ap_mdev_filter_matrix() function
is only called to initialize and populate apm_filtered if either
filter_adapters or filter_domains is true. If the hot plug configuration
change only adds control domains (meaning filter_cdoms is true, but
filter_adapters and filter_domains are both false),
vfio_ap_mdev_filter_matrix() is bypassed.
Consequently, apm_filtered is passed to reset_queues_for_apids() with
uninitialized stack garbage. This can cause reset_queues_for_apids() to
interpret arbitrary stack garbage bits as valid APIDs to reset, potentially
performing unintended guest hardware queue resets.
Fix this by zero-initializing the apm_filtered bitmap at the beginning of
vfio_ap_mdev_hot_plug_cfg() using bitmap_zero(). |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
spi: amlogic-spisg: Make sure clk_init_data is fully initialized
The clk_init_data structure contains several mutually-exclusive members
for different methods to specify the possible parents of a clock,
prompting drivers to initialize only the members they need. However,
not initializing all members may cause subtle issues, which are only
exposed when CONFIG_INIT_STACK_ALL_PATTERN or CONFIG_INIT_STACK_NONE is
enabled.
aml_spisg_clk_init() fills in init.parent_data, and assumes that
init.parent_names is NULL. However, the latter in uninitialized, and
thus may cause a crash.
Make sure all members are fully initialized, to fix such bugs, and to
avoid future breakage when converting drivers to a different method for
specifying the parents. |
| libxls through version 1.6.3 contains a use of uninitialized memory vulnerability in the OLE container parser. Memory allocated for the Master Sector Allocation Table (MSAT) in read_MSAT() is not fully initialized before being consumed by ole2_validate_sector_chain(), which may result in application crashes or potential information disclosure when processing a crafted XLS file |
