CVSS v3.1 |
| A flaw has been found in XnView Classic 2.52.5. Impacted is an unknown function of the component FLI File Parser. This manipulation of the argument starting_line causes heap-based buffer overflow. Remote exploitation of the attack is possible. Upgrading to version 2.52.6 is recommended to address this issue. Upgrading the affected component is advised. |
| Buffer overflow in Fonts in Google Chrome prior to 155.0.8059.39 allowed a remote attacker who had compromised the renderer process to potentially execute arbitrary code outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Medium) |
| Buffer overflow in ANGLE in Google Chrome prior to 155.0.8059.39 allowed a remote attacker who had compromised the renderer process to potentially execute arbitrary code outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Low) |
| lrzsz before 0.13.0 contains a heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability in procheader() of the lrz receive utility when copying overlong sender-supplied filenames into Pathname. Malicious ZMODEM senders can supply filenames up to 8192 bytes, overflowing the buffer via sprintf() in pipe mode or strcpy() to corrupt heap memory and crash lrz. |
| A heap-based buffer overflow in H5VM_array_fill() in src/H5VM.c in HDF5 before 2.2.0 lets a remote attacker cause an application crash and possibly execute arbitrary code with a crafted HDF5 file. When a dataset's unallocated chunks are read, H5D__fill_init() fills the fill-value buffer from datatype and dataspace metadata in the file. If that metadata is inconsistent with the buffer's allocated size, the write goes past the end of the buffer. The attacker can control the content written through the fill value stored in the file. |
| GNU Aspell prezip-bin contains a heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the decompressor in prog/prezip.c. The decompressor does not properly check buffer space, so a crafted compressed file can cause out-of-bounds read and write operations on the heap. An attacker who convinces a user to process a malicious compressed file with prezip-bin can trigger memory corruption, leading to a processs crash.
This issue was fixed in commit 15b188437f9e0192d4ac4472ad66a4e2f62a782f which will be released in version 0.60.8.3. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
KEYS: trusted: Fix tpm2_load_cmd() boundary check
tpm2_load_cmd() does boundary checks against the ASN.1 size i.e.,
payload->blob_len. Address this by passing the decoded blob size to
tpm2_load_cmd(), and use it for the boundary checks. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
KEYS: encrypted: fix integer overflow of datablob_len
encrypted_key_alloc() stores datablob_len in a u16. It is computed from
multiple string and payload lengths. If the result exceeds U16_MAX, the
assignment truncates the allocation size. KASAN reports a 32760-byte
slab-out-of-bounds write when __ekey_init() copies the master key
description into the undersized buffer.
The total payload length stored in key->datalen is also a u16. Use
check_add_overflow() to reject values that do not fit either destination,
and use kzalloc_flex() for the flexible-array allocation. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: usb-audio: Clamp implicit feedback packet count to URB capacity
data_ep_set_params() allocates each data URB for exactly u->packets
isochronous frames, so urb->iso_frame_desc[] has u->packets slots and
ctx->packets is the driver's only record of that limit. For an implicit
feedback sink, snd_usb_queue_pending_output_urbs() overwrites it with the
sync source's packet count, which is calculated independently from the
capture endpoint's parameters. When that count is larger,
prepare_playback_urb() and prepare_silent_urb() can write
iso_frame_desc[] past the allocation; their existing bounds limit payload
bytes, not the descriptor index.
The reproducer uses a high-speed UAC2 device declaring bInterval 1 for
implicit feedback capture (8 packets) and bInterval 4 for playback
(1 packet). On the first capture completion after the stream starts, it
accesses seven descriptors spanning 112 bytes beyond the one-packet URB:

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
vfio/pci: Check BAR resources before exporting a DMABUF
A DMABUF exports access to BAR resources and, although they are
requested at startup time, we need to ensure they really were reserved
before exporting. Otherwise, it's possible to access unreserved
resources through the export.
Add a check to the DMABUF-creation path. |
| Microsoft Office Outlook Remote Code Execution Vulnerability |
| A flaw was found in xdgmime. A heap-based buffer overflow can be triggered in _xdg_mime_magic_parse_magic_line() in the xdgmimemagic.c file on little-endian systems when an attacker-controlled MIME magic file in a user-writable XDG data location (e.g., in the $XDG_DATA_HOME/mime/magic path) is parsed by an application performing MIME type detection (e.g., via g_content_type_guess()). When performing byte-swap, incorrect pointer arithmetic on the write side causes an out-of-bounds write of 2 bytes, resulting in an application crash or memory corruption. |
| A heap buffer overflow vulnerability was found in libaom, the reference AV1 codec implementation. A flaw in the AV1 encoder's Look-Ahead Processing (LAP) mode causes the first-pass stats ring buffer wrap-around guard to be bypassed when g_lag_in_frames is set to 1 or higher. This results in a 232-byte out-of-bounds write on every encoded frame after the second, corrupting adjacent heap objects. An attacker who can influence encoder configuration in a transcoding service or WebRTC session could exploit this to cause a denial of service (process crash) or potentially achieve code execution. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
virtio_console: do not free control-out buffers on remove
__send_control_msg() publishes &portdev->cpkt as the control-out
virtqueue cookie. remove_vqs() walks every virtqueue and passes leftover
cookies to free_buf(), which treats them as struct port_buffer and
reads sgpages.
If a control message is still on c_ovq when the device is unbound,
free_buf() reads past the ports_device object.
KASAN reported slab-out-of-bounds in free_buf():
free_buf
remove_vqs
virtcons_remove
unbind_store
The object was the ports_device allocated in virtcons_probe().
Drain c_ovq without freeing. The packet lives in portdev and is released
with it. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
drm/amdgpu: fix buffer overflow during vBIOS update
Clamp the buffer postion to write by setting the bin attribute
to the maximum buffer size so that VFS layer will block the
out-of-bounds accessing. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
landlock: Require LANDLOCK_ACCESS_FS_MAKE_REG for whiteout creation
Whiteout objects are used in the upper layer of an OverlayFS to
indicate that the file with this name does not exist in the unified
view, even if it is present in one of the lower layer file systems.
For the userspace implementations of OverlayFS (fuse-overlayfs),
whiteout objects can be created from userspace as well:
* mknod(2) with S_IFCHR and makedev(0, 0)
* renameat2(2) with RENAME_WHITEOUT,
creating the whiteout in the old place of the moved file.
This commit guards whiteout creation in both of these cases with
LANDLOCK_ACCESS_FS_MAKE_REG. Whiteout objects are *not* considered
character devices and are not bound to a driver.
LANDLOCK_ACCESS_FS_MAKE_REG describes the same permission class as a
whiteout object: creating one is the only S_IFCHR creation that the VFS
exempts from CAP_MKNOD, so it is as unprivileged as creating a regular
file, while LANDLOCK_ACCESS_FS_MAKE_CHAR and
LANDLOCK_ACCESS_FS_MAKE_BLOCK keep meaning the creation of devices that
expose a kernel interface [1].
For the mknod(2) case, introduce a Landlock erratum. The creation of
whiteout objects through mknod(2) was previously guarded using
LANDLOCK_ACCESS_FS_MAKE_CHAR, and it is now guarded using
LANDLOCK_ACCESS_FS_MAKE_REG.
For the renameat2(2) case, fix a bug: Before this commit, renameat2(2)
with RENAME_WHITEOUT would create a directory entry even when all
LANDLOCK_ACCESS_FS_MAKE_* rights were denied.
This does not affect normal renames within layered OverlayFS mounts:
When doing a regular rename() on a mounted fuse-overlayfs, it is the
fuse-overlayfs daemon that exercises renameat2() with RENAME_WHITEOUT,
and only the Landlock domain of that daemon is checked there.

| Heap-based buffer overflow vulnerability in Apache Thrift C++ THeaderTransport.
When an application enables the ZLIB transform for the frames it sends, THeaderTransport::transform() copies the compressed frame into the write buffer without making sure it fits. Data that does not compress, such as content a remote peer supplied, grows under compression, so the copy writes past the end of the heap buffer by an amount that grows with the size of the frame, and for large frames it also reads past the end of the transform buffer.
This issue affects Apache Thrift: before 0.25.0.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 0.25.0, which fixes the issue. |
